When a man working in NAPTIP, an agency that should take care of the well-being of people is now said to be the one who tried to kill a woman, you should know that you can't trust people blindly.

An official of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), identified as Emmanuel, has been arrested for alleged attempted murder of a female police officer.

He allegedly broke the woman's jaw while manhandling her, strangled and left her in coma.

Prior to the tragic incident, the woman, who is an Assistant Superintendent of Police at D Division, Akwa Ibom State Command, was said to have been in a relationship with the man for some time.

According to New Telegraph, problem started when the woman found out that the NAPTIP official is married to another lady and insisted that she could not marry him as second wife.

But on the fateful day, Emmanuel went to the victim’s house at night to pressure her to become his second wife but the woman insisted.

This resulted in an argument. At the height of the fight, Emmanuel allegedly gave her the beating of her life and took to his heels when the woman collapsed in a pool of blood.
